Today I am having a problem where my Plex server (on Windows 10) will not stay " Fully accessible outside your network". It starts out connected. I can play a video from my phone (not connected to my wifi) and it will play. But when I leave that tab to another (ie. General) it says “Not available outside your network issue”. Yet, when I go on my phone again and play a different video, it still plays and my Plex server says I am playing a video.
So here is my question is: I see there is an issue with “Remote connection SSL issues”. Is it related? If not, is “Not available” message flaky and isn’t reliable?
Also, sometimes when I am connected, Please server says this:
Private Unknown IP x Public Unknown IP ← Internet
And Plex says “Fully accessible outside your network”
There is an inconsistency as to what Plex server says and what is actually going on. Plex says I am not connected yet I can play a video on my phone when not connected to WIFI.
And sometimes the player can’t connect to my Plex server at all. It is inconsistent and the server is no help if I can’t rely on the messages it gives me.
Why does plex server say I cannot reach the internet yet I can play videos on my phone? And it is inconsistent at best. Maybe the server times out at a point. I really don’t know. All I know is that when the server says I am not connected to the internet I can sometimes still play a video. Also that weird thing where it doesn’t give IP addresses.
Private Unknown IP x Public Unknown IP ← Internet
I have consistently said I am NOT connected to wifi on my iphone when I am testing on my iphone. This is to see if I can connect to plex server from the internet.
I am only using cellular to test the internet connection to plex
the display is only a check that Plex Tv sends back to your server that it can reach it or not. It does not affect if something is actually reachable or not. It is essentially a light which indicates X is on but the light does not actually control it being on.
I am not debating that with you. In both cases you said in can play. If it is playing it is connected. I am asking from which player, if any, can you not play or not connect at all.
i am having the same issue. i have an old verizon fios actiontec router that does not have a upnp option either so im not sure how to do it manually, but i did add a tcp for the port in the router and that didnt help. remote access will not stay enabled, i have some friends that cannot access my content, and some can. i dont know whats going on
they’re all new tvs, they all worked yesterday. today they are asking me why its not working. i keep enabling my remote access, and it keeps reverting to red on its own, not allowing remote access. i never had this issue before today
my computer, on which the server is running on, i went to network, and on the dropdown i chose disable for secure connections. and now i cant even get into settings
