Remote not working Pi 2

Hi,

Got my new Pi 2 today and am trying to set it up. It's running well on Rasplex apart from the remote below not working. I was using it with no problems on the pi 1

Any ideas?

In having a look online for assistance, I did read something about device trees not enabled????? I can't seem to get into raspi-config using putty to check. Putty logs on with plexuser and rasplex but getting the following:-

Version: 0.5.1

rasplex git: 55113f6ddae290c431fdf96171c28c1778fbe1ff
RasPlex:~ $ sudo raspi-config
-sh: sudo: not found
RasPlex:~ $

And logging on as su gives the following:-

RasPlex:~ $ su
Password:
RasPlex:~ # sudo raspi-config
sh: sudo: not found
RasPlex:~ #

rasplex don't have the sudo command.

just enter su and the password, and after that you are root.

RasPlex:~ $ whoami
plexuser
RasPlex:~ $ su
Password:
RasPlex:~ # whoami
root
RasPlex:~ #

There’s also no raspi-config either.

OK. Any ideas on the remote not working question. What can I try to resolve it?

RasPlex:~ $ whoamiplexuserRasPlex:~ $ suPassword:RasPlex:~ # whoamirootRasPlex:~ #
You don't really need su, you are already root by default, i.e. Login as root, password rasplex

Thanks for the replies. I can log in via putty (which might help at some point), but I think the SSH part of the question has sidetracked the original problem.

So with the new Pi 2, I installed Rasplex on a new card using the latest installer. I installed 0.5.1 image and it runs with no problems on the Pi 2 apart from the fact the remote that used to work om the original Pi doesn't work at all. I can swap over Pi's and the remote works on the original, and it also works on my PC. Out of interest, I used a different card to install the latest OSMC version of Kodi and it's exactly the same - the remote doesn't work. Hence my wondering if it's something to do with the Pi and trying to research this (but getting lost).

Therefore I'm asking for steps to follow to try and resolve this on Rasplex.

I would add that I can control it via the TV CEC connection, but don't want to do this because whatever the options I set in the preferences for CEC it always switches off the Pi when the TV is switched off and I have to reboot the Pi every time.

Actually guys, hang fire on this. The one common thing here might be the power supply. I get the rainbow icon, so I know the PSU I'm using is probably not up to the job (not enough juice to power USB properly) and have already ordered the official Pi 2 PSU. This should arrive tomorrow, so I will update once I've had chance to test this.

Hey greekislandlover,

Myself and another user whom have the same remote are also having the same issue. See this thread, https://forums.plex.tv/topic/148073-usb-mce-remote/

I am not getting any power issues from what I can tell.

I stopped using the Rpi2 until i had time to try and work this out (no strong with linux).

Well, new PSU changed nothing for the remote issue, but needed to be changed anyway. I'm going to hop over to the other existing thread.
