I’ve had remote web access working for several years, but recently it stopped working. On the server side it says remote access is working fine, but when I try to access from outside my network it gives the dreaded:
Server is not available
The selected server cannot be reached securely. An insecure connection may be possible. which of course, it isn’t.
I’m running PMS v1.4.2.3400, I have port forwarding set up manually. Nothing has changed recently so not sure what the issue is
I’m sorry for the delay. I’ve been working with the team on finding out the problem’s solution.
I normally hang out in the Linux forum.
If you will post your log files after you attempt to ‘connect’ it will show us precisely what I need to see.
I’ve had this issue but mine was related to having my VPN turned on , on the server. As soon as I turned it off everything was gravy
VPN use with PMS is problematic because not all VPN providers allow for port forwarding and a ‘session-static’ WAN IP address on their end. The same is true of ISPs using CGNAT with a constantly changing exit WAN IP address.
The “Remote Access” I speak of here refers to those who have a WAN IP which is ‘static’ until the next DHCP refresh cycle. These are the problems being investigated and working on resolving ASAP.
