Removed movie and re added and it will not show up in Plex

I added a movie and realized that the chapters were out of order when I watched it that night on Plex. I was able to find the MKV file with the playlist in the right order. I deleted the movie and did a Plex scan to see the movie was removed. I then loaded the correct MKV file on the NAS/Synology and re-scanned in Plex. The movie will now not show up in Plex. I have tried deleting the entire folder (and content) from my NAS and re uploading and still Plex is not finding the movie. I have been using plex for years and I know it is not a naming issue. Is something cached? Any ideas?

Once PMS has a movie in the database, even if you delete it, you must purge all the record of it.

The full sequence is:

  1. Remove file
  2. Scan Files (Plex takes it out of the list)
  3. Empty Trash
  4. Clean Bundles
  5. Load fresh media file
  6. Scan files again if it doesn’t start automatically after about 1 minute.
