Here’s a Plex curiosity. I have been ripping episodes of the TV show Thriller (Boris Karloff) from the DVDs to my Drobo NAS. Season 2 ripped well, all intact. I had problems with season 1. Five episodes ripped at the same size, about 1.10 gb, the same as all other episodes, but would only play the teaser for the next episode (about a minute). This frustrated me to no end. I use Amrisoft Video Converter Ultimate as the ripper, and it is a solid program. In frustration, I tried ripping at 1080 rather than 780, which gave me 3.60 gb files. Curiously, this solved the problem. This worked even when I used files I had previously ripped to my laptop hard drive at 1.10 gb and then converted to the 3.50 gb files. It works for me, but I would sure like any insights as to why this worked. Now if I could only figure out how to successfully rip the HBO John Adams DVDs! Jerry Michels
