With no known changes my roku can no longer find my plex server. I can access the server from several other devices including another roku. Both devices are on the same network and I can see them from a third device.
I should state that I am working in offline mode because my home isp has been out for weeks, and may be out for another month. I turned on logging on the player, but I have no idea how to read the logs. Any help would be appreciated.
Additionally, I just learned that casting from one device to another is a feature. This works. I can load the plex for Windows app on my surface and cast to my roku app and it works. However, the roku app still says it cant see the server.

I think the authentication is not cached on the roku app. in your server’s network settings in the field for IP that do not require authentication enter the IP of your roku and see if that works.
That kind of works. It can see the server now, but it still won’t load the home screen which seems to be all of the online services. If I select more, I can see the server, and browse the recently added, but I can’t access the full libraries.
There are two things listed under more, my server, and plex. When I hit ok on plex it expands and show all the options, none of which work because I’m offline. However, if I hit ok on my server it doesn’t expand.
Would this all be fixed if I could get both devices online and on the same next for a short time?
Ok, spoke to soon. So I can browse the recently added, but when I try to play something it tries for a bit and then says playback has stopped due to multiple playback errors. Please check your connection and try again.
That doesn’t seem to have made any difference. To clarify you wanted me to go to the network section on the server and change secure connections from preferred to disabled, right?
Ok, so I put both the server and the roku online together using my hotspot, that seems to have fixed that issue. That roku is working perfectly. However, now my other roku isn’t working. I am guessing I’ll need to put all the devices online at once. Make sure they all check in with the plex server, and hopefully after that things will work.
That worked for about one night. Both roku devices looked and behaved correctly. However today on the original roku I am not able to play files. I am able to browse everything correctly, but when I go to play something it gives me the same error about multiple playback errors
