This is purely a money-grab and a sad attempt to build an “all-in-one” interface that literally no one asked for. They don’t want users streaming their own content because they don’t make anything off that.
I loved Plex because it was separate from that crap. I didn’t open Plex to see what Netflix or Fubo or Tubi was streaming. I opened Plex so I could stream the media library I have.
This needs to be reversed or allow users to use the old interface.
I agree its horrible and I am looking at switching to Jellyfin or Emby at this point. Its a forklift move for me at 20TB of media to have to redo everything. I am so pissed right now that I dont care. Whoever developed the UI for Roku and the other platforms had their head up their back ends for sure.
I already started moving stuff. I would deal with the awful interface short term if the app worked of there was reassurance they were working on it but I’m still in the same place I was yesterday with a non-working client and one person from the company asking me if I restarted the app and then nothing. I understand that there are hundreds of people with problems here but just a post “We’re working on it” or “Screw you, you’re stuck with this” would be a step up.
Yeah, even after steps that everyone has tried, and even factory resetting my Roku, and it is still non-functional. Instead of wasting more time on this, I’m just moving to Jellyfin. My friends are all saying “I told you so,” because they recommended Jellyfin and I went with Plex.
more like a losing-money job.. users are gonna leave plex because of this honestly. my pals just texted me today and was like “WTF IS THIS CRAP???” “What happened to plex??”
yup.. they are not techie at all.. and word gets around fast..
