** I forgot the image but the rating source is Rotten Tomatoes
I’ve tried refreshing the metadata, changing the file name, removing/adding back to plex. I’m unsure what i’m doing incorrectly to not get RT ratings for probably 50-60% of my library.
Is there a log file telling me that it’s unable to find the movie on RT and falls back to IMDb?
One Clue
I might have found a clue - it appears the title Life has been the title for many movies (5 or so in RT) so I’m curious if plex doesn’t know how to decipher which one is the right one and falls back to IMDb ?
Anything I’m looking for the logs? I can see it reaching out the rotten tomatoes api and getting a 200 response. I have verbose logging set but don’t see what the response data was (to confirm it received multiple movies).
This feels like a bug ( i use that term loosely ). I’m unsure how plex is reaching out the RT - name, id, imdb id, or other means so i can’t confirm what i’m experiencing is the root cause.
Here’s a movie that only has a unique name , with 1 result in Rotten Tomatoes: i.imgur.com/8oyzHnD.png
from what i am told there is some oddness with RT’s api that we need to work through
Do you think you are going to fix this problem?
I like RT rating very much and mostly i don’t like to have some movie with RT rating and some without it.
Isn’t there a procedure to update movie list.
Or where we can report movies missing RT rating?
Any update on this? It seems like new movies just don’t have RT ratings at all, only ones that are a month or two old. Particularly annoying given that there doesn’t seem to be a way to force a periodic automatic metadata refresh on movies.
