Hi folks!
I have ripped the show RWBY from RoosterTeeth. I have the Theatrical volume versions and that’s how I like it vs Episodic. Problem is Plex doesn’t quite understand that it is one long stretch with no breaks. I’ve done the trick calling is S01EXX-EXX… to have Plex semi understand.
It currently goes Show then Season then Episode 1 title (but of course it is the whole thing). What I want is for it to go Show then Season/Volume and then start it. Almost like a Collection in the Movies section but in the TV Shows section. I have it at least playable, but has anyone else had this issue (with this or any other show) and what did you do to fix it? (I do NOT want to find each episode separate; would rather the one file like I have.
Once you do this - and find out just how badly Plex mishandles ‘combined/multiple’ episodes - anything you have to do to avoid that is what you’re gonna do.
Set show to Hide Seasons as referenced in prior post.
This lists one episode per season, which is really one full season given the way OP is ripping the media.
If you use RWBY - s01e01-e16.mkv, Plex shows all sixteen episodes.
Setting the show to Show Seasons forces another layer to drill through to get to the episodes (show → season → episode), which I believe OP wants to avoid.
Single episode naming, Hide Seasons RWBY - s01e01.mkv, RWBY - s02e01.mkv, etc.
