Star Wars Rebels S4E15-E16

So how should I name Star Wars Rebels episodes Season 4 Episode 15, 16? It’s one file, so I tried Star Wars Rebels.S04.E15-E16.Family Reunion and Farewell.1080p.bluray.x264.mkv, but that doesn’t combine them into one episode. Right now it shows it in Plex as E15, 16 respectively pointing to the same file. I did try setting the show to DVD order, but that didn’t do anything. Any suggestions?

And it won’t, because they are two separate episodes. Plex matches against TheTVDB.com, which shows E15 & E16 as Family Reunion – and Farewell part 1 & part 2 (Season 4 Listing).

If you really want it to show up in Plex as one episode, just rename it to episode 15: Star Wars Rebels - s04e15.mkv.

See the Multiple Episodes in a Single File section of Naming and Organizing Your TV Show Files.

As mentioned in the support article, Plex does not handle this situation very well. You’re better off splitting the file into two individual episodes. See [HowTo]: splitting multi-episode files with MKVtoolnix GUI

Thanks, ended up naming it S04.E15 and renaming the title. Would be nice if Plex handled this better, especially since the Naming and Organizing Your TV Show Files article said to do it that way. But at least these 2 are acceptable solutions.

If you left it as it was named so it shows 2 episodes, in a recent update (or might be coming out soon, can’t remember), Plex changed it so that both episodes are marked as played.

The link you gave explains exactly what will happen when you name a file as ShowName - s04e15-e16, so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise.

Other than the update, how exactly would you want Plex to handle this better? The update they release/are releasing is a good solution considering prior when you used that method the episode would play twice and now it will go either stop (in your case since that’s the finale of the series) or it would go on to play the first episode of the next season.

I must of interpreted it wrong from that article. I thought the s04e15-e16 would mean it’d show as one episode, but in the Episode No. below the episode title it’d come across as Episode 15, 16 and so on if it’s a 3 or 4 part one. But doing it just as ep 15 worked, and that’s how it shows up on Disney+ so all good there. If it didn’t, I would have just split them using MKVtoolnix.
