I’m having problems with using PLEX as a home servers. There are many series what I want to watch from TV but I’m getting playback errors which drives me crazy and I don’t even know how to fix it.
Can you help me trying to find the source of the problem?

Just to be clear: Do some of your videos work?
Have you disabled video transcoding?
Have you change your settings on the Samsung Tv - Settings>Subtitles>Burn subtitles?
Can you try to playback of the same episode that failed without the .ASS subtitles?
Yes, mostly movies are working. There are some anime videos which also works fine.
Here are the subtitle settings from my TV.:
Subtitle Colour - White
Subtitle Position - Bottom
Subtitle Size - Normal
Burn Subtitles - Automatic
This is the transcoder settings.:
I also played some video which works and also the same video which isn’t.
Still a Vonbersion failed. The Transcoder exited due to an error.

EDIT: This might help, but it should work with “Automatic” too.
Set Burn Subtitles to “Only image formats” in the Plex setting on you Samsung TV.
.ASS are not very compatible subtitles to use. With “Only image formats” you’re losing the formating off the subtitles.
Can your share a sample of the video that does not work?
EDIT: And check that the software version of your TV is up to date (Should be version 2014)
(This reminds me of the error that were in earlier software version of Tizen 5.5)

So If it dosen’t work on “Only image formats” were it only transcodes the audio stream I would suspect it is a codec thing, but you should be getting a rather specific error about missing codecs…

Based on that and the fact that I can’t seem to find the reason anywere for it failing I would try to delete the “be22e26-4019-windows-x86” folder from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Codecs and then restart Plex media server. That will force a redownload of codecs.
Same issue here… working fine yesterday… now Samsung TV’s wont play some content. but it plays fine on Apple TV etc. Three samsung TV’s in the house, all give “playback Error” on some content.
It was working last night so I rolled the whole system back to yesterdays backup… but STILL the same issue!!
now stumped…
Just noticed, content that plays fine is Direct Play… nothing plays to the TV’s Transcoding…

After the latest update for my Samsung 2018 TV the plex app doesn’t play my movies.
When I watch directly through my shield everything is fine.

I’m getting tired of it I’m thinking of buying an nvidia shield and use other service 
This is utter BS, I have a few movies (cant remember specific codecs) that worked just fine when I bought the tv (samsung q6fn) and now dont, I also remember the emanual that I checked when buying the tv new had a few more codecs available than the latest manual. I.e. samsung for sure is nerfing the tv with firmware updates. I also noticed peak brightness decresead for every firmware update (measured with colorimeter).
Since last year I have pretty much blocked most samsung dns requests in my pihole so it wont go off and auto update.
