Hello, I am getting this error
" [Req#3f1c9] Transcoder: Failed to delete session directory (boost::filesystem::status: Access is denied: “D:\plex-transcode-dvh9yok8k5st9tr3vnfs47hx-3240363d-e2fa-48e0-831d-cf36621e67a7\chunk-stream0-00050.m4s”)
Can someone help, thank you.

If you are having issues, that error is unlikely the cause.

Sorry, my post was not added as it should. Here is the additional information.

File that is making the problem:

image
and here - <Media id="11978" duration="8005351" bitrate="34862" width="3840" height="2160" - Pastebin.com

Here are the warnings and errors from the console - Dec 13, 2022 09:55:29.253 [23104] Error — [Req#d0bc/Transcode] Transcoder: Faile - Pastebin.com
Here is the console log a few minutes before the issue - Dec 13, 2022 09:59:44.995 [2316] Debug — Completed: [127.0.0.1:61238] 200 GET /s - Pastebin.com

Also something important, the problem is present ONLY when the subtitles are enabled. There are PGS and SRT subtitles , the issue is present with both. Also I’ve tried the three options in the subtitles settings (Burn always, Never, Automatic) and still the issues is there.
I am not sure how to add the actual debug logs.
Thank you.

What issue are you having? You haven’t explained the problem. Does the video not play? You get buffering? etc.

Info on getting the server logs (<- click that).

Is this the issue where the video will stutter when using subtitles?

Seems to be an issue with the Samsung plex app.
Several other topics reported this but still no fix.

Its buffering for about 30 seconds and then I get “Unknown error”
If the issues is with the subtitles it should happen all the time because I am always watching with subtitles.
The issue is not present for all files.

It does seem to be sort of the same issue as I (and many others) have.
In my case this will always happen near the end of a video. Annoying.

If I dissable subtitles, the issue will not appear (when using direct stream).
When direct stream is disabled the issue will not appear, even with subtitles.

This issue never happened in the past so it must be a bug.

For me it is happening in the first 5-6 minutes always…
I will try disabling the direct stream but even if it works it is not a solution.

I totally agree with you. This is no solution at all, just a temporary fix (that happens to work for me).
We always used to watch videos via direct stream with subtitles but this has become impossible.

Hopefully plex will fix this issue soon so we can use the app like we used to.

I’m going to need to see logs. I am not aware of this issue. In the Plex for Samsung app, turn on the option to enable logging to your server. Playback a file and wait for the issue to occur. Let it run for another 30s after, then stop playback and get the server log. Upload it here.

Hello,
thank you for your answer.
Here are the logs based on your instructions:
com.plexapp.system.log (38.0 KB)
Plex Media Scanner Analysis.log (12.8 KB)
Plex Media Scanner Deep Analysis.log (5.1 KB)
Plex Media Scanner Matcher.log (6.1 KB)
Plex Media Scanner.1.log (93.4 KB)
Plex Media Scanner.log (12.2 KB)
Plex Media Server.log (9.3 MB)
Plex Transcoder Statistics.log (90.9 KB)

Ugh. You have verbose logging enabled. Please turn that off and restart PMS. Repeat the steps above. It’s easier if you just get me the zip file of the logs.

Sorry,
here it is - https://store1.gofile.io/download/2e4dfa76-ad56-4713-b738-46706ddc97f4/Plex%20Media%20Server%20Logs_2022-12-15_06-20-40.zip

Although, I think verbose is still there, no matter the fact it was disabled in the settings

Wrong setting. That’s for the Web client. Go down further to the other “General” tab.

You want debug on, verbose off.

Oh, yeah, I see now, this one should be the needed one

Thank you.

@GG30 Verbose logging is still enabled (look at Plex Media Server.log).

You have to restart PMS after turning off verbose logging for the change to take effect.

Please do the following:

  1. In the Plex Samsung app, enable both direct play and direct stream(*).
  2. In the Plex Samsung app, enable logging to server at the debug level.
This times out after a few hours, so you may need to re-enable it.
  3. Verify verbose logging is disabled on the Plex Media Server.
  4. Restart Plex Media Server.
  5. Wait 2 - 3 minutes for PMS to fully start and the log files to capture the startup.
  6. Play the movie on the Samsung TV to re-create the problem.
  7. Stop playback.
  8. Wait one minute for the server to log everything.
  9. Pull & post server logs.

Note: Drag the zip file into the forum message window. It will attach at the cursor location. No need to use Gofile.

(*) Disabling Direct Streaming may force a video transcode, which kills HDR.

  • According to the info you provided above, War for Planet of the Apes has DTS audio.
  • Samsung TVs do not support DTS audio.
  • Therefore, it will be transcoded by Plex Media Server to a supported format.
  • This results in PMS direct streaming the movie.
  • If Direct Streaming is disabled in the Plex Tizen app, Plex Media Server will then transcode both the video and the audio.
  • Plex transcodes all video to H.264. If enabled on the server, Plex will tonemap HDR to SDR.

These are my server logs.
Near the end of the video plex will buffer and finally give a ‘playback error’.

Thanks for looking into it.

I did some more testing:

When I play the same video but I adjust the burn subtitles setting (in the Samsung plex app)
to ‘always’, the issue does not take place.

When I put the setting back on ‘automatic’, the issue will occur again.
So I suppose this has to be some sort of bug with the subtitles, right?

Hello,
thank you for the excellent explanation here are my servers logs

@steven_sanchez Your logs show the video is only about 10 minutes long. That doesn’t sound right. These should be 15 minute episodes. It shows that around the 8.5 minute mark it stopped receiving data, like it hit the end of the file. Have you tried playing this file again to see if it’s an issue with the file?
