Samsung Qled 4k tv black screen when you go to play any file

Hello

So I have a few family members who remotely use my plex server. I utilize it and works fine on my LG oled tv, and my Sony. A family member has a Samsung qled tv that uses Samsung tizen. They have the most updated version of plex for Samsung tvs, I downloaded and trouble shot the issue myself. All the settings are in line, she recently switched internet service providers from Verizon to spectrum. Are there any known issues with the recent plex update for Samsung or any issues with plex running on spectrum network? Anything she goes to play displays a black screen, up to last week plex worked perfectly on her tv even was able stream 4k files from my media server no issues. I know her internet speed is fine. All other streaming apps work. Any ideas would help.

This? Samsung TV Just Shows Blank Screen

If so, see this post for status / workaround: Samsung TV Just Shows Blank Screen - #30 by markus101

Hello yes as I go to play a file. It just shows a black screen for all files I try to play doesn’t even buffer. And no I tried all those work arounds, power cycled the tv, and I uninstalled the plex app and reinstalled it made sure it’s the most updated version.

My spectrum supported Samsung works fine.

I maybe speaking from ignorance, but you said she just changed providers. Could it be you need to drop her from your server and send her a new invite? PLEX (I assume) would use any updated settings, IPs, firewalls, paths, etc…

I deleted plex completely from her tv and reinstalled it which I had to resign her into to my server. Which still did not fix the issue.

I was saying delete her from your server and then re-invite her (after a re-boot). Resetting and updating the TV is good, but the video problem maybe on your server’s end.

Does the audio come through and the screen is black or does it not start?

I have been dealing with this and the trick I used was to reduce the audio playback from 7.1 to 5.1 in the playback settings and it worked fine.

Then, on a couple of my setups, I took my streaming device (NVDIA Shield TV) and plugged it into the sound device (in this case, both Vizio soundbars) and send the video out the sound bar to the TV using the eARC ports. I do not have to change the audio settings anymore.

It seems counterintuitive to run things through sound, first, but it has worked in both my bedroom and my outdoor projector setup. I will be doing this to my living room once I get my new sound system.

Some people might not like this because they use their TV as the video source switcher. I don’t so it works for me. Pretty much everything comes from my NVDIA Shield an I have no other sources.

My aunt is 79, she utilizes my server remotely using her Samsung 4k tv. Worked fine till she moved into a new apartment and had to switch internet. That’s only things that changed. She uses the plex app through the tizen store for her Samsung tv. And no there is no audio or video coming through. When you press play on a file, it’s a black screen unless you press up and then the playback controls come up but nothing plays.
