Server Version#: 1.15.4.919
Player Version#: 3.92.3
The Plex Player on my Samsung smart TV will not find my Plex Server, however Roku versions of the player do. I’ve tried re-establishing connection, tried deleted and reinstalling the player app and I’ve reinstalled the server app as well, all to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am having the same issue.
I can see my local server fine, but a remote server it cant see it.
The error I get is:
SERVERNAME unavailable.
Insecure connections are preferred and the selected server can not be reached insecurity with your current settings… You can change Settings > Main >allow fallback to insecure connections and try again.
Ofc I have tried all the settings - no change. Had the server checked - no issues. Reinstalled - no change. Removed and installed - no change.
All other devices connect fine (including other smart TVs) from my network.
It is isolated to my Samsung TV with plex ver 3.92.3. It only started after this update.
I have 2 Samsung late model tv’s both have the same issue after the latest update. Seems like pretty poor product testing
Same problem with my old Samsung SMART TV from 2011. (Server Version: 1.15.4.919)
Maybe i’ve found a part of the problem: after uninstall and reinstall of Plex App on my samsung SMART TV, it’s impossible to connect with my plex account.
It seems the problem come from unability of the old app to recognize login identification on the new version of the server…
My problem seemed to be on the TV side since Roku devices were connecting to the server just fine. Unable to diagnose the problem, I deleted Plex Media Server and reinstalled the most current version. Once that was done, the Samsung TV established connection with the server. It was kind of a pain to re-link all my media as I have a few TB worth in my library. Everything is working fine now. You may want to try the same. Good luck.
