Samsung SmartTV : An Error Occurred While Attempting to Play Video

I’m getting this famous error
(this exactly says : An Error Occurred While Attempting to Play Video)

I find this solution :

… but unfortunately in my version of plex, these options do not exist (I imagine that the version of Plex proposed by Samsung is not the most recent version) …

I already tried : uninstall/reinstall - disable H264 - run the optimisation on server side next to new metadata improvements (?)

(Plex continues to work fine on iOS and tvOS)

  1. Does it mean we have to wait for a new Plex version from Samsung ?
  2. Is there something I can do to fix the situation ?

Started getting this error tonight too. Went into my Plex app on my Samsung Tizen tv and went into Settings → Advanced → Allow Insecure Connections. Make sure it is set to Always.

Thanks for the article and the procedure. I had found it last week for my friend’s TV (under vidaa) but I thought that for Samsung we would not have this kind of problem.

I just did a plex reset on my TV and I redid the manipulation.
I still have the same error !!!

Can I go back to an older version of PLEX to correct the situation ? Does it makde sense ?

Hi All, I have been explained that downgrading doesn’t make sense.
