I run Plex client on Windows and on my Samsung Smart TV. Only on the Samsung client is this audio issue happening. During playback, randomly but several times per minute there is a ‘glitch’ in the audio… Not a very technical description, but the best I got. I’ve not heard this exact problem with any other system and I build a lot of them. For a fraction of a second, the audio volume/level goes very high… just for an instant, and then back to normal. This ‘spike’ in audio is not heard like volume going up because it is too quick/short duration. Just sounds like an anomoly in the recording where there is a ‘glitch’. But it loud, frequent, and at higher volumes a big problem. I revert back to my Windows client most of the time because of it. This has happened for about 18 months across every version of client and server in that time. I happens with most content. Almost all of my content is h.264 .mkv container files with DTS or AC-3 audio and the TV is connected to an A/V receiver via optical link. The same A/V receiver and all gear operate the Windows client version so it looks very much like a Samsung Plex client issue, a transcode issue played by that client or… I dunno. I’ve tried versions, audio settings (all of them). It happens when trancoding and when playing direct.
Any ideas anyone?
