2 posts were split to a new topic: No audio on DVR Recordings on Samsung Smart TV
Iāve upgraded to v1.27.1.5916 and let some media stream to my TV for the last hour - no audio issues at all!
Updated to 1.27.1.5916 and all files where I previously had problems with audio dropping out on Samsung QN95A is working correctly now ![]()
Confirmed here, too. After upgrading PMS from 1.24.5.5173 to 1.27.1.5916 the audio issues in all versions in between are gone, and (transcoded) DTS audio tracks play completely on our mixed Samsung Tizen clients. Thank you very much, @sLumpy, even if it would have been great if someone at Plex had looked at it a bit earlier.
I do still have problems with two Samsung TVs here at home. The newest Plex app is installed on both TVs and the newest Plex Media Server. Canāt play audio DTS 5.1.
One of the TV:
Samsung 43" 4K Crystal UHD TV UE43AU8005 ( UE43AU8005KXXC )
Can we keep this post always open
Because this issue keeps coming back in 1 way or another.
I have this issue on LG TV with PMS on 1.28.1.6104
It never used to be a problem.
It seems like every minute the audio would cut out and within a second restart, but it would do it 3-4 times within 10 seconds. And then fine for a minute or so.
My transcoder default throttle buffer was 60 sec
So going to try larger and see if this helps.
However this should not be required, the buffer should generally stay full.
The issue youāve described is different to the issue that was discussed here.
The issue here was audio that would start cutting out intermittently but then would completely cut out for the remainder of the media item. I.e. after 10 minutes of audio in a movie, no more audio would play at all when there was audio only transcoding (It had nothing to do with buffers btw)
Since the issue youāve described is intermittent only and doesnāt cut out completely likely indicates that it is a different issue. Iād recommend creating a new forum post or looking for one that matches the issue you described in your post.
Not that different.
differences are 2 fold:
Samsung Vs LG
several seconds or even minutes Vs ājust a secondā
regarding the buffer, it was described above as something to consider.
I am getting an issue every minute and my buffer was set to 60sec.
so I did the math.
yet to test >60
Although the devs are saying this is fixed, Iām still facing this issue. My TV is Samsung QN95B with Tizen OS. My plex server is on a very recent QNAP TS-464. The Plex Server version is the most recent 1.29.1.6316.
When I play any movie with DTS soundtrack it plays for half a minute than it stutters and will crash eventually.
Iām a lifetime plex pass owner and very disappointed that this issue is still going on for almost a year now.
Iām in the same situation. On a server with 11th gen I5 and latest PMS version. Plex Client is on a Samsung Q80T tried with TV speaker, optical output and hdmi earc output. Video is direct stream audio transcodes from DTS to AAC. After 1.5-2 minutes video starts to buffer and error message appears in PMS log āApplication provided duration: -1 / timestamp: 16197478 is out of range for mov/mp4 formatā and then after sometime Playback error on client and āSession appears to have died from under usā error on PMS. Now I do optimize for TV all DTS content to make it possible to play them.
Tried unticking direct stream and direct play as well. That way the movie doesnāt even start getās into Playback error almost immediately.
Iām having the same issue on my QN95B when using my CCWGTV but it does play fine via th Tizen app. I started with plex as it just worked but 7 years on there are problems lingering that are years old. Itās exhausting.
