hi there!
all my previous topics were closed by the timeout.
and there are many other similar topics
no any answers.
I can’t watch almost every movie - it’s buffering or stop playing.
Now I use laptop and HDMI cable to TV to watch movie or have to use noname chinese android TV with direct play.
Any device that use PMS Transcoder is useless!
I don’t see the Samsung attempted playback mentioned in logs. Can you make sure Logging to server is enabled in the Plex app on your Samsung TV then reproduce and get server logs again.
It looks like you are running the server as administrator and I see at least one error with clearing out transcode session directory so issues may be related to that but not sure yet.
I don’t believe in the miracles and wonders, but after turning on log shipping I can’t reproduce the issue. btw, after turning it off too. All Movies are at Direct Streaming mode without any video transcode.
will wait for three wizards from the East - I have nothing more to say.
be back with logs.
Hello!
I had catched it.

Hello there! @BigWheel today I’ve got new Plex for Samsung application version and now it’s 5.64.1, platform version 6.
there is no log shipping option left.
so now I have addiitonal questions:
do you need any additional information?
will this topic be closed by timeout like all other?
where are the client logs?
how to solve constant Plex for Samsung TV logoff? this is really annoing to login for several times almost each day.
Despite you keep the silence I’ll add some details:
Plex for Samsung ver 5.88.1 platform 3 at FullHD TV (wi-fi 5) works ok - I can watch any movie, even 4k through the Transcoder.
Plex for Android TV ver 9.0.6.31998 at noname chinese HD TV (very noisy Wi-fi 2.4 network) - works ok - I can watch any movie, even 4k through the Transcoder.
I suppose there is a problem with platform 6, or may be some unknown bug with two versions of Plex at my platform 6 TV.
Hello @BigWheel
just FYI - today I tried to watch Plex. at the begging I faced with 10 minutes of endless logging in\logging out. after that annoing monkey login I started to try to watch. the first try was “This Means War (2012)” - even in Direct Play mode it just stopped after a couple of minutes. the second try was “Boon (2022).mkv” - it was so twitchy that I was unable to bear it (Direct Play too). the third and the last was “Matchstick Men (2003).mkv”. I spent 2:20 instead of 1:50 to watch it - it was buffering and lagging all the time. Yes, DIrect Play mode.
you can look at logs and see it yourself, if you want.
done.
there is no logging off until now.
I’m sure you know that logging off from the PMP for Samsung is vanishing config and log shipping option.
fresh logs contains only “Boon (2022).mkv” lagging and “Matchstick Men (2003).mkv” buffering - those issues were recreated as they are. Plex Media Server Logs_2024-11-15_11-28-56.zip (1.4 MB)
I looked a the log when you played Matchstick Men and the file appears to be badly encoded. I’ve seen this before. The audio and video streams are not next to each other in the file so your server is jumping back and forth sending different parts of the file to the client. Since the client is trying to direct play the file, it’s having trouble with these mixed up pieces. Either re-encode the file or let PMS transcode the video.
Can you elaborate a little more and specify what did you saw at the logs exactly to get this?
almost all my files are badly encoded? but another Samsung TV in the next room play them all - files are badly encoded for the one TV only? and why all those files are well encoded for DLNA or SMB stream?
what is the “streams aren’t next to each other?” I use MKVtoolNix and HandBrake but don’t see anything that can be accepted as streams. what are you telling about?
