SAT>IP (unsupported tuner Kathrein EXIP 414/E): scan successful; channels found but playback error when trying to stream;

Server Version#: 1.18.8.2527
Player Version#: 4.22.2
Tuner Make/Model: Kathrein EXIP 414/E (unsupported tuner)
Guide/Lineup name: Tele Columbus Germany Digital
Using XMLTV?: -
Channel number/Name: multiple

Dear PLEX users,
Recently I set up my first PLEX server on a QNAP NAS (TS-870 Pro).
All my TVs + mobile devices are streaming from my SAT>IP server Kathrein EXIP 414/E.

It would be a blast to have it running in PLEX.
I bought the PLEX pass and tested the LiveTV & DVR feature.

The server gets shown as unsupported tuner (I guess there is no official supported satellite tuner available - correct?).
I can set everything up properly and the scan finds over 1.000 channels (all available channels found).

So far everything is ok.
It also creates a nice program overview using the available EPG guides.

Unfortunately every streaming attempt ends fails.
After some time - the loading circle disappears and the following message appears:

Playback Error: Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.

Is there any chance to get it working?
Does anybody have experience with a working satellite tuner in PLEX?

Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Martin

I’ve the same tuner, but I’m not getting any channels …

… what did you do to get a successful scan?

Hi count,
thank you for the question - actually I did not do anything special.
Both are obviously connected to the same network.
I did search on Astra 19.2E and tested lot of different settings.
Finally it did not really matter what I have selected.
Over 1.000 channels have been find in all different searches.
The only issue is that somehow plex is unable to start the stream.

Are your channels on a different satellite?
Best regards,
Martin
