Saved Updates Not Visible Without Page Refresh

I try to scan for previously tabled issues, but I can never seem to find what I’m looking for specifically. I don’t mean to be redundant if someone else has asked about this, but I didn’t see anything. If I have a CD in my Music Library that lists as two discs, I always combine them into one by changing the track and disc number. I hit save and the change shows up immediately with the latest edited track joining Disc 1 until there are no more. Worked like a dream for years. Lately though, the saved changes don’t show up immediately. If I hit the refresh button for the page they show up fine, but I loved seeing them in real time so I could keep track of the new track number. You have to go and manually research the actual track order if you inadvertently re-number two tracks with the same number because you try to do four or five in a row before refreshing to make sure it’s still working. I just did the server update hoping that would fix the issue and it hasn’t. Is this permanent to anyone’s knowledge?

While I’m here; and I can’t imagine this hasn’t been requested before, but can we please make all Soundtracks, Compilations and EP/Singles visible on the original artist home page instead of having to scroll right to find them? It’s so annoying. Thank you.

I haven’t been doing precisely what you’ve been doing, but I have noticed recently that some changes I’ve made aren’t appearing until I refresh the page.

One thing I’ve noticed is when I deleted a few albums from my library (edit: actually, I think it was playlists), the red trashcan overlay appears on the album tile. In the past, that was momentary, and the tile would be removed after a second or so. Now, the tile remains, with the trashcan, until I refresh the page.

I’ve seen this in Firefox and Vivaldi browsers on Linux Mint 21.1.

Same exact thing here with the red trash can. I’m on Firefox most of the time. It isn’t as big a deal today as it would have been four months ago, but I just finished combing through my Plex Library (MP3s only) for punctuation, artwork upgrades and combining discs like I described earlier. I tried deleting a tribute album that was registering under Various Artists originally (I had since directed my database to used local metadata, but this had been uploaded months ago…Naturally now it splintered the 42 song tribute all over the database by artist until I deleted it a second time and just used Various Artists instead of the individual track artists (which I filled in later after merging 42 records manually). I’m not touching that again. It’s not so bad when the artists are nobodies, but if you have a cover by a well known artist I don’t think you can reach down to that artist’s page and merge it with an artists a level above. The merge option goes away when you change levels, if that makes any sense whatsoever. Anyway, thanks if anything changes by joining ranks on the original issue. Much appreciated.

I am getting the same thing… I go to the Artist page and update the cover art… I download the artist and then add it and then save it. Before, it would take about 2 to 3 seconds to update on that page but now it’s not doing it until I refresh. I think this has been happening for a couple of builds.

I know this is under windows but I am on a QNAP machine but seeing the same thing. It would be nice to get this fixed. I am sure this is happening all over as something has changed within the last couple of builds. Here are some easy steps to repo.

Steps:

  1. Go into albums or artist page and find one that does not have cover art.
  2. Go into Poster and save a new poster for the album/artist.
  3. Click on save to save the poster and you will be back on the album/artist page.
  4. Notice it has not updated the cover art within 2 to 3 seconds.
  5. After about 30 seconds refresh the page and notice the cover art is now there.

Build: 1.30.1.6562

Can anyone from Plex confirm this? I would really like this to be fixed at some point.

This is very easy to reproduce and has only started happening recently (within the last weeks).

Plex dance any artist or show.

When you empty the trash as part of the dance procedure the red trash can remains on the danced item as the page never auto updates.

Either force refresh the page or navigate to another page and back again gets it to update.

Windows user here, using the Windows App or the Web based App. Anytime I update a show (move to a collection), change Poster Art, or try to remove a show from continue watching, same issue. It will not auto change after a couple seconds. It will sit unless I either refresh the web based app, change libraries, or close out of Plex and re-open. Been happening for about 2 weeks.

Still looking for anyone to verify this defect… Does it need to be put in somewhere else?

I’ve now confirmed whether Windows based App or Browser based, that the continue watching sticks unless Browser is refreshed or App is closed and opened. Also any time you add a video to a collection, it does not change unless you change libraries. If you delete a video, it will sit with the trash can for 3 min before finally being removed, on my end.

Also still occuring with the latest update: 1.30.2.6563

Having the same issue.

Posters no longer change automatically and I have to leave the show and come back in to it to see the changes.

Collections I delete are left with a big trash red trash can however just changing library and back again they’re gone.

And removing items from continued watching does not behave as expected and requires a full close and refresh.

This is on Windows Plex Client, or on Web, and persists after resetting customization, updating the server, and all other options tried.

Was this the fix for this issue… seems to be working for me… Latest Web:

  • Fixed a regression that causes hubs and library lists to not automatically update after performing an action on an item.

Seems to be working!

Same appears to resolve the issue. My continue playing now vanishes once I remove from list. Also if moving a show into a Collection, it vanishes into it vs sticking around.

I think so, it does appear to now be functioning properly again which is a great sign.
