Player Version#: All
Greetings,
Having an weird issue with my Plex setup. Currently Plex is running on Windows 10 22H2 and 1.30.0.6486 on server version. My current setup also has TDARR which converts H264 to H265 and then copies the new converted file back to the original location and deletes the original one. During the file copy since it has the same name, some gibberish is added to the file name since it can’t have the same name till after the copy is done and the original is deleted. Plex then updates with the new file info ( same file name, just converted to H265). This has worked great without any issues till recently. I have not made any changes to my environment that I’m aware of, but now Plex is thinking that two copies of the file exist and shows the status as “unavailable”. This is because one of those files has been deleted and no longer exists. Plex still sees and thinks that the temporary file name during the copy is still there. This file no longer exists on the computer anywhere. I know this is going to be on the Plex side, but can’t find a setting or anything that could cause this. I have done the normal maintenance of refreshing metadata, optimizing database etc. The only solution is to go into each movie that has now been converted and delete the file the nonexisting file that Plex still think exists. Oddly enough, I have this same setup for TV shows and it does not have this issue, just my movies library. Any thoughts? I can work around this for now by just deleting the nonexisting file in Plex, just seems very odd. Plex thinks that there are two copies of the same file, and acts like it can’t update a scan to remove the nonexisting temporary file. Please let me know if any other info is needed. Thanks for the help and hope that makes sense.
Edit: I may end up just deleting the library and then recreate it. Only thing I can think of at this point. Only does it on the movies library, just hate to lose all the collections and playlists I built
