Scanner/Matcher problem with tt0082235 and imdb-tt0081250

I do have two movies in my library:

Die Nacht der Gehetzten (1980) {imdb-tt0081250}.mkv

Die Rache Des Gelynchten (1981) {imdb-tt0082235}.mkv

After scanning my library both movies were attached to a single movie entry. So I did split that entry, did rescan the library and both were attached again to the same entry.

Looking into the XML of that single entry - containing both movies - the GUIDs looks like that:

Guid id=“imdb://tt0082235”
Guid id=“tmdb://30931”
Guid id=“tvdb://20649”

IMHO, there must be something wrong. I can fix that on my side so that I keep the original IMDB-ID in the filenames, but I can no longer search for the first movie.

Doing it this way will always have a result like that.
You need to Fix Match after splitting.

The problem was, after splitting I didn’t find the movies. So I did rescan.

I’m missing a valid way to fix things like these. As 99,999% work, I never looked for solutions. Next time I will try the folder view … Perhaps I wiill find them there.

BTW, did you look up both IMDB-ID’s? Why did they match into one single entry?

This is not a solution, but a workaround for the time being until (if) they ever fix this

Take both movies out so Plex can’t see them

Add “The Night of the Hunted (1980)” with no imdb number. It will show up but it won’t match to anything.

It will not fix match normally

You have to input imdb- tt0081250 into the search field and it will show up (erase the date)

After that’s matched, then add Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981) also with no imdb number and it will match without any problem

I assume that is because it doesn’t exist on TMDB but only on IMDb.

So if someone would be so inclined to create a record for that movie on TMDB, it might fix itself shortly thereafter in Plex.

Isn’t this the movie The Night of the Hunted (1980) — The Movie Database (TMDB) ?

Maybe try using tmdb id instead of the imdb one to get it to auto match.

Yes, it’s that movie. Both movies do have an IMDB-ID. My logic to rename the movies gives priority for IMDB over TMDB on movies and TVDB over IMDB on shows.

So if there’s an IMDB-ID for a movie, why should I use the TMDB-ID? My understanding of Plex’ CDN is, that it merges information from these sources.

I use these posts here to make that CDN better as it already is. As I said - it works perfect most of the time.
