Scheduled recordings in DVR no longer has any upcoming airings

@Coolkeeper3: my most recent episode of TWD didn’t record either. I had the resolution set to Any, but I had specifically listed to record on the HD channel only. So I had to cancel entire recording of TWD, set to record the one missed episode by not forcing it to record on the HD channel (so instead, it has auto-selected the SD channel to record on :-/), then re-set the recording of the TWD series (new episodes only) but in addition to having the resolution set to Any, I also have to leave the channel set to Any. So I will get some SD and some HD recordings. There are a few other shows I’ve noticed this additional issue on. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Is there a Plex Admin aware of the issue?

I have a similar issue even if not exactly the same with recording TWD. There are 2 shows one with subtitles in the middle of the night and the one in local language at 22h00.
When I look to recordings menu it will find all the show from the middle of the night, but does not record TWD i would like to. (the one from 22h00).
When I look in Guide mode, it will show all TWD (including the one of 22h00) with the red triple circles (programs to record) , but it does never start… the one from the night are marked the same but are recorded. I have selected in the guide the episode individually and selected record… but same result. It does not record it.
any idea while it seems to recognize all versions of the show in the guide and mark them as future recording sessions… but then does not record one of those? Hope I am clear.

I noticed some time back that my Plex stopped recording a lot of TV shows except for one kids TV show. Finally got around to look at it today and it seems I am having the same issue. I tried first deleting all the scheduled recording priorities, updating the guide and then recreating them but nothing would schedule. I finally had to set the resolution to ANY and then set the specific channel to the HD channel for that program (However this runs on multiple HD Channels and I can only specify one of them, Big Bang Theory being the show in this case runs on Fox and TBS). I also noticed in the Guide when I try displaying ‘HD Channels Only’ it still shows all my channels. I went back to the DVR Settings and went to the list of channels it sees and I can see it does have a note on the ones that are HD. So it seems like there is some issue between the DVR/Guide and Plex understanding what is actually being broadcast in HD.

That is actually working as designed. The HD Only view of the guide is working on actual program broadcast resolution. So it also includes channels where the programs are broadcast with 720 resolution. it was done this way as some countries do not have distinction between SD and HD channels

First, everything worked GREAT when I first signed up with Plex.

I am still having issues with a lot of my shows that are scheduled for “series”. ALL of my shows are set to “Any Resoution”, so my issue isn’t due to HD.
I went back and set everything to “New and Repeat Airings” and that forced some to record the next episode, but then the next set failed. In fact, the only way I can get anything to record is to click the episode in the guide and record “Only this episode”.
I also marked everything as inclusive as possible: “Never” delete, keep “All” showings, “Any” channel, etc.

It’s terribly frustrating and as much as I enjoy the Plex interface, I’m not sure how many more missed shows I can take.

The only error I am seeing in the logs is:
DVR:Subscription: Failed to resolve subscription

But I see these errors for shows that recorded with no issues (and they all appear to be complaining about jpg or thumbs, not recording issues).

To look into this would need logs with debug logging enabled covering the time from before the scheduled recording is to start and covering period of recording and up to the end and post processing/scanning.

when submitting the logs zip - please indicate what was being recorded and when

I’ll try to capture that if it happens again. So far, after disabling the “enhanced” guide options, everything seems to work better.

That isn’t a ‘fix’ for future scheduled recording have an unknown asterisk noting what and in the end failing to record.

Plex Media Server 1.14.1.5487 has just been released as Beta. It has a fix for the HD Only issue where it gets ignored when selected for scheduled recordings
