And your LAN is RFC-1918 compliant (which yours also is)
You can set it up with Plex/Web from your PC or on the shield. The server on the shield can be accessed just like a server on a NAS… both are appliances in that regard
Now I can’t access the server settings anymore. The two libraries I re-setup lay night are still available, but I can’t get to the server settings to add other libraries.
Yes, doing what you said before recreated a new server, which I added two libraries to: Movies & TV Shows. I have a lot so it scraped them all. I was going to add Music (also a lot), but can’t.
Between the processor and the OS, PMS is timing out while trying to perform its normal tasks.
This CPU, while dated, has about the same passmark score as NAS CPUs which are able to run PMS properly.
Therefore, I conclude, which is often the case, Mint is the problem.
In all other cases where Mint systems have had inexplicable problems, installing clean Ubuntu or Debian immediately resolved those problems.
Thus, I cannot continue to provide support for this OS because it is not supported.

Honestly, that feels a bit defeatist. Everything was running perfectly fine on this machine, mint, etc… Until I installed PMS 1.20.2.3402. Additionally, nothing else has gone wrong with the machine or OS.
I know it’s an old CPU, which is why I’ve been waiting until we have another drive too move to our new QNAP TS-453D. We only have one 12TB storage drive, so I need another to put in the NAS, to let it format for itself. Then, copy all the data to it, and then format the original drive to be a raid 1 copy.
But, like I said, it’s not happening until Xmas. I think we can live without the other libraries until then.
Thanks for everything. I know you guys work hard, and spend 99% of your time on complaints (90% of which are from ungrateful users).
After reinstall on TrueNAS, Plex allows the connection (secured) and after roughly 30 minutes all stops with The server “” does not allow secure connections. This happens from the same network and the logs don’t indicate anything. Tried reinstall, deleting previous servers, etc. Pls help
I’m having the same/similar issue after migrating my windows server to a linux docker. I suspect a certificate issue so if mine could be reset too I’d really appreciate it. I’m guessing it’s trying to point to the old server on a separate IP which is now removed. Thanks!
Edit: Not sure if anyone’s done anything but all connections seem secure now.
Apologies for being another me-too post here, but I’m having the same issue. I can only connect to Plex running on a QNAP via insecure connections. Secure used to work until past month or so.
hey Chuck, sorry to pile on, but i understand that people having the same problem as myself have pinged you here and you reset their certificate so https works again?
happened to me some time in the last 3 months also. i went trough all the comments and i also can’t find the certificate stored on my server.
i’m running TrueNAS 12 and have checked the entire network multiple times in the past months. i’ll really appreciate any help
