I just upgraded my computer and installed Ubuntu 22.04. Looking at my movies today I am getting “Unavailable”. I looked up what could cause that and couldn’t find anything useful. When I look at the file location of the movies it is the same path as the TV Shows folder. Both these folders are on the same drive. The TV Show is working just fine. When I look at Manage Libraries I am seeing to instances for all content. They have different paths though. When I try to change the path Plex can’t seem to find the correct folder. Any help would be much apricated. Screenshots below.
During the upgrade your server has gotten a new “identity” (no, the “friendly name” is not the ID).
This happens if the preferences.xml in the Plex data folder is deleted and recreated afterwards.
So now you have 2 identically named servers on your account.
Find the older of the two here https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms and delete it.
You should backup the Plex data folder and restore it onto the new machine next time.
