Stopped watching a 4K movie about halfway through last night and when I try to resume, the loading wheel spins forever and I noticed on the computer where the file is stored, that the network goes to 90% and higher.
It seems that the seek function is actually streaming the ENTIRE file through to wherever the timestamp is. So if I only tell the movie to start 1 minute in, it’s a far shorter wait than if I try to seek forward an hour and a half. The network goes crazy until it gets to the right time, then the network calms back down and matches the actual streaming bitrate.
Anyone one else having this issue? Or know of a fix?
NOTE: Watching on an Nvidia Shield, hardwired into the network (as is the computer where the files are located) and this particular movie is on an SSD.
