I get the following message:
Not authorised
You do not have access to this server.
If this seems wrong, make sure the server is signed in and claimed by the same account you’re using now. For more troubleshooting tips, see our .
I’ve tried editing the registry, I’ve signed out and in again, but I still can’t shift this message. I received an email a couple of days ago, purporting to be from Plex, saying that there was an important update. The usual change to the spanner icon didn’t happen to show there was an update and trying to force the update didn’t work. Plex has been working perfectly well of late and I made no changes, apart from adding the odd TV series or film. Last night is when things started going bonkers. Repeated reboots of the server machine and exiting PMS there while being signed out from the site on the main machine got it to a state whereas at least Plex would start, but I can’t access my own media.
I don’t know if I put this request in the wrong place, but I have been a Plex pass holder for probably ten years and i would have expected a response by now, even if it’s a “wrong forum dumbass”-type response
I’m seeing quite a lot of similar reports from French users lately.
Is it possible that certain French ISPs are implementing filter rules at the DNS level?
If you set the “DNS Server” setting in your router to 8.8.8.8, do these issues stop?
Did your ISP introduce a new filter feature, which purportedly is intended to raise the security level when using the Internet? Some details of your description sound like your traffic is being processed by a filtering proxy.
Thanks for getting back to me. I can change the DNS in Windows, but I don’t seem to have access to DNS settings for the router. I run a Bouygues Telecom BBox6.
I do use a dynamic DNS service called No-IP, but I’ve used that for years. I found the DNS settings, but changing to 8.8.8.8 hasn’t given me my server back
No-ip is about getting into your home network from the outside.
This issue though is about getting out of your home network, into the Internet. i.e. the opposite direction.
Yeah. It concerns me that I see no server - mine is called Mini - there’s no Online Media Source in settings and if I sign out, when I sign in again I get this message
Then try that and be sure to use the screen and keyboard of that Plex server computer to login & claim the server.
(You might want to define 8.8.8.8 as “secondary server” and put the local IP of your router into the primary server field.)
That is an account-level setting. As such you will only see it if you are logged into an account.
