Server Claiming

Server Claiming Not Working - DS920+ NAS

I am experiencing an issue with server claiming on my Plex Media Server and would appreciate your assistance.

Details: - Plex Version: 1.43.3.10896 - NAS Model: Synology DS920+ (DSM7.4.1-90080) -

Problem: Unable to claim server using claim code - Methods Attempted: * Token injection via Preferences.xml * Multiple claim code attempts * NAS restart - Error Message: “The server you are trying to access doesn’t exist” I have tried several times to claim my server using the claim code from plex.tv/claim, but the process consistently fails,“Server registration is not working”.

The server is installed correctly and works fine on the local network.

Is Plex installed via Synology Package Center or using Docker?

Check these three items:

Network Settings

  • Synology Control Panel → Network → Network Interface tab → Edit the network interface
  • Verify the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway are correct.

DNS Settings

  • Synology Control Panel → Network → General tab.
  • Configure the NAS to use a public DNS server such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).

Synchronize NAS with NTP server

  • Synology Control Panel → Regional Options → Time tab
  • In Time Setting section, chose Synchronize with NTP Server
  • Pick a server from the drop down list, then click Update Now.
  • You should see Status = Normal.

Also, do not add the Plex Claim Token to the Preferences.xml file.

It does not belong there.

Adding it will not help claim your server. It will only cause problem.
