Make sure you did not inadvertently install PMS on your laptop. If you did, uninstall it.
The Plex server might be unclaimed for some reason.
Point a browser at the IP address of the NAS: http://syno_ip_address:32400/identity. For example, if the NAS address is 10.1.2.3, use http://10.1.2.3:32400/identity.
If PMS is running, you will see a few lines of XML in the browser window. Look for claimed="0"
or claimed="1"
. 0 = unclaimed, 1 = claimed.
If PMS is unclaimed, follow this procedure: FAQ 31: Reset / Reclaim PMS on DSM 7 (Not Authorized - Locked Out).
Then see if you can login and access server settings. Connect to the IP address of the NAS. Do not use QuickConnect, a FQDN, the “open” button in Synology Package Manager, etc.
If you still cannot access Plex Media Server, then:
- Stop PMS
- In Synology File station, navigate to the Plex Data Folder (/PlexMediaServer/…)
- Compress the Logs directory
- Download and attach to this thread.
That is the version of the Plex Web client.
PMS will 1.37.x.yyyy, 1.38.x.yyyy, etc.
It is normally visible in Settings → Server_Name → General.
However, since you cannot reach server settings, you can look in Synology Package Center.
