Server shows The Movie Database has the correct movie ‘Red Notice 2021’ but Refuses to Load it. No matter how I go in and search to select ‘Red Notice 2021’, Server IGNORS my selection and shows ‘SAS Red Notice 2021’ (which I also have) instead.
@Blkbyrd he is not using the new agent. he is using the old agent. I can tell because the new agent would have the poster art in the fix match results.
I do think he should upgrade the library to the new agent and refresh metadata for library but I understand folks reluctance to do that.
Using the IMDB tt number worked, thanks. Any idea the normal method didn’t work?
Since it linked the two files together, even though I split them apart and using the tt number changed the new file to the correct information, it still does not show as recently added, I assume maintaining the added date from SAS Red Notice. Is there a way to update that also?
File Structures:
F:/Red Notice (2021)/Red Notice (2021).mkv
F:/SAS Red Notice (2021)/SAS Red Notice (2021).mp4
I have basically done that (several times now), except for the Clean Bundles part. What does that do? How does it effect all the other movies in the Library?
off hand I cannot say. except possibly since the “SAS” one is an mp4 possibly it has bad embedded metadata and the local media assets sub agent is over riding the fix match choice.
I will say that the old agent are using for the library is not likely to get fixed so do suggest updating the library to use the new Plex Movie agent
the clean bundles part is what actually removes the metadata that was previously gathered for the items that were removed. if you don’t clean them it then it basically can act as a cache and just use the data again so it does not have to redownload info from online
it only removes the bundles of items not in the database any more. so it should not affect rest of library
I always update when it shows an update is available, I did not know there was a New Plex Movie Agent. If the ‘Update Available’ function doesn’t show all updates, where do we go to find them?
I went to the link but none of my 3 libraries (Movies, TV Shows and Music) have the “Upgrade Matching” option added to the dialog. The Music library had an ‘Upgrade to Plex Music’ so I clicked whatever that was. My Movie and TV Show libraries just show the regular options (everything except Upgrade Matching).
Changing the agent to Plex Movie in the library settings (the scanner will change too automatically on it’s own, let it change) and Refresh All Metadata for the entire library, will do the same as the Upgrade Matching. It may take a bit to complete depending on how large your library is so just leave it alone til it finishes.
If agent and scanner are already on Plex Movie then just do the refresh.
The new tv agent is Plex TV Series if you want to do that library as well.
I seem to be going backwards. Wanting Red Notice to show correctly as recently added, I took both Red Notice and SAS Red Notice out of the Library folder on my hard drive, deleted both from the library, Clean Bundles, and Refresh All Metadata.
I then moved only Red Notice into the Library Folder, Scan Library Files, and it was added as SAS Red Notice again. Using the tt number it will update to showing Red Notice as the title, but unlike before there is no movie information or Poster.
All of the options look the same as before the deleting, Clean Bundles, and All Metadata Refresh. I can not check the agent because the the Advanced tab is greyed out and I can not select it.
I did all the same updates for the TV Library and noticed at least one Series shows a new poster for the Series in the Home view, and the correct (previously selected) poster in the TV Library view and the individual Series view. I do not know why or how it is different in just the Home (recently added) view.
