"Server not powerful enough to convert video" error message with a 10 core I7-6950X CPU?

I know it feels aggravating to ask for help and not get ‘the fix’ right away. This is a holiday weekend after all, so responses to this issue will pick up on Monday when more of the community is back in front of their computers.

The community is your tech support for Plex. We are all Plex users and we do try to help each other as best we can based on our own knowledge and PMS experiences. Some folks use Windows, others Linux, and still others may use dockers or virtual machines or a raspberry pi. The Plex Ninja’s know more about Plex than anyone, and they have solved thousands upon thousands of issues that the community has experienced. Some issues are easy, even I can help, then others are deeply more complex and take time to resolve.

With that said, do you have any of the logs from June 30th or July 1st? I’d like to see how the server was behaving before this issue popped up. Is the P drive a local drive or is that a mapping to some network storage? Have you reviewed the Windows Event Logs for any errors being posted by PMS? Maybe that will help point to the source of the issue.

This is technical support. Not sure if you noticed, but you were already being helped by a Plex Employee.

Your experience is definitely not typical.

What TV show were you trying to watch? I checked your logs and I don’t see any playback attempts. I see the episode “Chopped - Aussie Awesome” in your logs but this appears to have run into an error and is stuck. Have you restarted your entire computer recently?

I also see that you didn’t install Plex Media Server in it’s default location. Have you checked that you’ve set the permissions correctly for this new location?
