Server unavailable after DSM 7 upgrade

I upgraded to DSM 7 and uninstalled the existing version and installed PlexMediaServer-1.23.6.4881-e2e58f321-x86_64_DSM7.spk. I chose to use internal storage for the logs. I followed the guide to uninstall and unclaim the server after it was unsuccessful the first time. I set permissions on the Plex folder and PlexMediaServer folder to allow PlexMediaServer custom (Administration, Read, Change) access. The server starts successfully and I can see in my pfsense router that it sets a UPNP entry, but when I try to access it locally from the web interface, or my iPhone I get the message that the server is unavailable.

I uninstalled and reinstalled once again using the unclaim method described above and providing a new share for logs making sure that the System Internal User - PlexMediaServer had read/write to it as well as my old Plex folder and the new PlexMediaServer folder. I restarted my router and everything that I was able to. Still facing the same issue - Server is currently unavailable when I click on Movies, TV Shows or Live TV & DVR.

@dtgoodwin11

Open Settings - Authorized Devices - Server (dropdown) in the left corner.

See if there are two entries for this server. (i’ve seen such things happen).

If you do, REMOVE all but the newest one

When done, force reload the browser (CTRL-F5)

go back to open https://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web

Chuck, that was it! I don’t have my libraries anymore, but it wasn’t a big deal for me to rescan them.

Chuck, your suggestion of looking for multiple servers and deleting all but the newest one did the trick for me. I had upgraded to Synology DSM 7 and couldn’t access my local libraries or server, (though the Plex libraries like Live TV and Movies & Shows were there). When I checked I had a server from 5 hours ago and 3 hours ago. I’m guessing that I created the first server when I first re-started Plex, then the second one when I re-installed it. Now I get to re-load all of my libraries. Thank you for your knowledge!
