Server Unavailable and Red Warning Triangle......HELP!

Hi everyone

I’ve been plagued with an issue for a few weeks now where the Plex app intermittently loses connection with the servers and my devices get a message on the screen either saying NO SERVERS FOUND or THE CONNECTION TO THE PLEX MEDIA SERVER…etc etc.
I’m using linux Ubuntu 18.04 and running latest version of Plex Media Server.
When I log into the servers they are running fine and have to manually restart the PMS using command line prompt

Can anyone help or has anyone else had this issue??

Thanks in advance

specific version # please? (settings - server - general) There are two “current” versions.

Version 1.14.1.5488

Thank you.

Are these connections Internal (LAN) or are they remote (WAN) ?
Do you have UFW enabled? (some have had UFW get enabled accidentally)

remote connections. my servers are hosted and are based in Europe. not sure with all this linux stuff and I don’t know what UFW is etc

Any help would be appreciated

If you’ve selected Ubuntu 18.04, UFW is their firewall software.
If it is enabled and port 32400 is closed, there will be no connections to the server.
It will appear as absent in Plex/Web.

Another possibility:

If you can connect to it and it gives you Plex/web, this means the port is open.
Therefore, check to see if it’s logged into your account. (Settings - Server - General).

If not, and you cannot reclaim it (no Settings), your only choice will be to SSH-tunnel to it.

it seems to be the same time every night too where the servers are showing as unavailable at around 8pm and require multiple restarts to get them back to remote connection status
