Forced update today on xbox one and now it says server unavailable. Nothing else was changed and everything works fine in my laptop but nothing on the xbox. Anybody got a fix for this, kids want they’re movies back.
Go to settings and manually enter the ip address of your plex server.
The whole app is generally broke now… might have to get a roku for the kids…

under settings … but what do you input if you are not on the same network as the server?
Thanks for this post it’s nelped me since the app update rendered my server offline on Xbox.
Thr33DEE, go to your Plex media server, settings and your remote access setting. The local server is your local servers IP address and the remote one will be your servers remote IP address.
Thanks to Plex for providing an updated app that needs manual settings to work as if it should be normal and expected for new improved apps to break basic things like automatically detecting the server that’s on the same network.
The new app needs to be removed until it works, I have no problem with them releasing it as a separate beta app for people who are happy with testing things to use, but until it’s approved I don’t think it should be pushed on everyone.
My plex pass is up for renewal soon, I’m just letting any plex employees here know it won’t be renewed, thanks for showing me where my money is (not) being spent.
