Well I just sent a message to Plex through Facebook messenger stating everything that we have been talking about on here. As soon as i hear from them I will give an update. I was specific towards the Firestick.
Also having this issue with a brand new Fire-tv stick. removed and reinstalled the app several times to no avail.
Running PMS Version 1.13.4.5251 on Windows 10 pro (x64)
Hey! sorry to hear youâre experiencing problems with the app.
Weâve been trying to reproduce the issue in our end with no luck. In order to investigate it, would you mind sharing logs? For that, go to Settings / Advanced section, and enable âNetwork loggingâ preference. Then, youâll see a âLogs available atâŠâ message in the bottom part of the Settings screen. Open a browser in that direction and post the result here.
Thanks in advance
Has there been any progress?
I just updated my plex via the Synology DMS a couple days ago and now plex wonât work anywhere and Iâm offline with that stupid 1.3 notification.
Looks like itâs the server itself. Not devices and players as my iPhone app and fireTV app are showing the same
Same problem here with a Bravia TV 4k with Android TV onboard, â1.3.0.0 requiredâ, but on my Server (Windows 7 SP1 32bit) I have 1.13.5.5291. It works on my Android smartphone.
Iâm a bit disappointed.
I am having the same issue with Plex on my Amazon Fire Stick. I am running a Synology NAS and can connect on my iPhone, but continually getting the server error thru the fire stick.
well that makes sense⊠1.13 newer than 1.3âŠ!!!
Hi, any progress here? are logs still needed? i have the exact same issue with plex server on my windows 10 PC and client on my mi box.
If Logs are needed i can provide them
Iâm having a similar issue. I just updated the Plex app on my Amazon FireTV and now when I start it I get an error message saying that I need to be running server version 1.3.0.0 or higher.
I run the server on my Mac Mini and I have server version 1.13.8.5395 running so would anyone have any idea why Iâm receiving this error or what I can do to fix it?
This is super annoying since I basically watch everything through the Fire TV and now I canât watch any of my TV or movies.
I have the same issue.
My Sony Bravia 4K Android TV auto updated the Plex app and now I have the âServer Version 1.3.0.0 or higher requiredâ meessage.
My Core i7 PC is currently running Plex Server Version 1.13.8.5395. An earlier build of 1.13 was running before I got the message, so this issue makes little sense.
I found that, if you change âSecure Connectionâ (Settings > Network) to Disabled, save and remove Authorization from your device, then go in your TV and try to find the server again, will work.
I had the same problem with the same TV (Sony Bravia AndroidTV) today and after a lot of tries, i find this solution. I hope that work for you.
I donât see how allowing insecure connections is a fix?
Have Plex dev got any further with this issue?
They responded to my facebook message with something like âask for a solution on the forumsâ
Nothing here. Iâve about given up on the plex app for the firestick and i ise the app from kodi for it. I have my security settings at perfered. With that even my remote connections they stream better from that. The only thing i use the app for is streaming live tv.
I am getting this message on my Fire TV. Itâs brand new, and I have a pretty pumped up gaming computer which will be 2 years old next month. Therefore, I cannot believe that it is my computer causing this
I ran into the same issue today ( with PLEX on a Fire TV stick 4K as client and on a Shield TV as Server) and got a solution for it.
In PLEXâs Settings, you need to set âAllow insecure connectionsâ to âyesâ or âin home networkâ. After that it worked. I applied this setting in both my Shield and my Fire TV stick, but maybe only on the Fire TV is enough.
The naming of the PLEX versions is pretty misleading because if you own 1.15 you could think that 1.3 is a higher version, but in fact you have Version 1 update 15 installed versus Version 1 update 3 required. So no need for updates for everyone that is receiving this message.
The suggestion here helped me. On the server settings (on my desktop), I set âSecured connectionsâ to Disabled within the Network tab. On the app on my Amazon Fire stick, I changed the âAllow insecure connectionsâ setting to Always within the advanced section. No idea why this happens or why this fixed the issue but hope that helps others.
The same problem: Android tv (mi box) canât connect server. The Plex app is configurate to allow insecure connection ⊠The problem is the same ⊠Mi Plex server version is 1.13.
Just bought a WD Mycloud PR2100 with Plex server embedded. Upgraded to version 1.16.
Also using Fire TV cube requesting a ânon existing?â version 1.3 âŠ
playback on PC and iPhone XR works fine.
How come after a year of posts this issue is still existing?
