Just reinstalled Plex for another attempt to see if it’s a workable piece of software… going in slow this time… only going to record this stuff I watch, I’ve removed those recordings from my Windows Media Center lineup. (won’t subject the wife to the pain of Plex Live TV & DVR again for awhile… that was brutal) Came back to Plex mainly because Windows Media Center is recording only Audio for some Fox News Shows I watch… strange… so, I’ll be recording those shows as well as a limited few others.
So, todays first Plex shortcoming:
Went to Channel 731: AMCPHD at 9pm and set it to record “The Walking Dead”, New Episodes, only record from Channel 731, IN HD, and at 9pm:
Yet, when I go back to the guide, I see the episodes at 6pm, 7pm & 8pm, all repeats, are showing up with that symbol that says they will be recorded as well:
I think this is unrelated to the initial question… but… it’s the same show.
I’ve six tuners by way of two HD Homerun Primes.
I’ve ONE show scheduled to record in Plex at 9pm, but I’m seeing it listed twice in this screen:
clicking on each of this, both reveal the same thing:
1.:
clicking the activity ‘heartbeat’, I see only one recording of this show in progress:
My reason for concern here, is… I asked Plex to record ONE show at 9pm as a test. My wife has four recordings going in Windows Media Center… 4+1 = 5… this leaves one tuner left over, yet, Windows Media Center threw on error saying it couldn’t record one show…,
I did make a change in the HD Homerun Primes channel line up via it’s web interface to the channel lineup on both Primes… so that might have contributed to this ‘hiccup’
Is anyone else out there, running Plex and WMC off the same set of HD Homerun Primes? and if so, is this ever going to work? (assuming I manually manage things to attempt to not exceed the number of available tuners at any given time?)
I don’t know about your duplicate 9PM recording problem, but as for incorrect recording icons in the grid guide… that is an old bug. But I was told that it is not a bug because they designed it that way. They suggested making a “feature suggestion” to get that fixed.
