When I install the Server the setup wizard doesn’t run, and I can’t find any local videos as a result
Could you describe the steps you’ve done after dropping the Plex Media Server app into your /Applications/ folder?
After you run the Plex Media Server app you should see the Plex icon in your menu bar. In order to complete the setup you will need access your newly installed Plex Media Server locally – e.g. opening a browser window and accessing http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you’re on the same Mac (http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web if it’s on a different machine in your home network).
- I clicked on the Plex Media Server in the Launchpad
- I clicked on the Plex icon in the menu bar and selected Open Plex…
- I clicked on Your Media and got a message telling me to download the Plex Media Server
I also tried clicking on the Plex icon and selecting Preferences… but I couldn’t see anything about where the Media Server would look for local content
Can you open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web from within your browser on that Mac after starting/running the Plex Media Server app?
If the server settings are showing no server specific options… did you by chance use that Plex Media Server with a different account (Plex or Mac)?
When I visit http://127.0.0.1:32400/web and click on Settings, I see Account, Online Media Sources, Authorized Devices, Webhooks and Users & Sharing, then under Plex Web I see General, Debug and Player. Does that mean there are no server specific options?
It looks like you already had a Plex Media Server installation on that system before that might have been linked to a different Plex account?!

I couldn’t edit the plist file as described in the instructions (domain not found errors), but deleting the plist file and restarting the Plex server seemed to do the trick. Thank you very much for your help
