I added a friend of mine through Plex’s sharing invite UI however he’s getting a message that says “No content available for this library”. However… That’s not true.
Any ideas?

Have you defined any restrictions for this user, based on either Content Ratings or ‘Labels’?
Keep in mind that these are “white lists”, not “black lists”.
Both the content and label sections said Allow All. For ratings… I’ve explicitly selected ratings and I’ll see if that changes anything. Labels didn’t have any input fields because I don’t use them so I left that to allow all.
Not sure if this will be the same, but I literally just had this problem a couple of hours ago because I had lost power… Once power was restored, I checked to make sure PMS was running, and loaded up the plex app on the TV, and the only page that worked was the Home page, all of the Libraries were missing info. I corrected it by going all the way down to “More” and then clicking on my server and clicking retry.
Hope that helps…
I believe these are unrelated issues. I can see my library but a shared user cannot.
Yeh, like I said, not sure if it’s the same. But, have your user go to More and select your server and select retry, nothing bad can happen, and maybe it will fix it… Worth a try, but may not be the solution
Are you sure you shared out from the right server?
I see you have several servers in your account.
That’s curious. I rebuilt my PC about a month ago and reloaded everything. The share on my friends app is showing the correct server name (Home Office Computer).
So, leads me to believe it’s correct.
Is there a way for me to remove the old servers to make sure it’s not getting confused?
Yup. Go through the device list here, and look through the ones marked Plex Media Server:
Hmm… Sounds like this…
I don’t believe it’s connected to this. Mine is a fresh install without pulling any appdata, database or registry info. So, sharing should work as it is intended without complications.
Yes. I understand that. You’re in situation 2(maybe)
Did you “re-share” your libraries again? Even if you fresh installed with the same settings and same library names you still need to allow access to them.
Someone could correct me on this but it would seem(logically) that the users(friends/family) are tied to library ID’s and not the library names. So, even if you used the same library name, the ID may still be different.
I got it working. I believe it was a combination of explicitly assigning content ratings vs all. I also noticed my external access wasnt working…so I fixed that. I don’t believe that was influencing anything but who knows.
I also removed any servers that weren’t active any longer.
