Shield DVR Storage Issue Is Driving Me Crazy

I recently upgraded to Oreo on my Shield TV. I set up a brand new Plex server. I got everything where it needs to be, properly attached an 8TB external, allowed access, and pointed the Plex app on Shield TV to aforementioned external drive. Somehow, it still wants to record to internal storage it seems. I recorded one show - yes, one - before hitting errors on all subsequent recordings due to storage space. There’s ~2GB left on the internal storage, so it makes sense for that to be the issue. I can’t figure out why my nice, empty 8TB external is sitting unused by Plex.

Please help!?

EDIT: May have fixed my own issue by chance. Looks like somehow the libraries in the Plex web app were still somehow pointing to internal emulated storage? Will update if still seeing issues.

Under the NVidia_Shield directory, did you create a new subfolder for DVR recordings content, create a new library pointing to and tell your DVR to record content to that library?

Either way, Plex still stores all metadata on internal storage.
If you have the 16GB Shield, I think you’re going to be out of luck in attempting to manage your information.
My own metadata folders are 30+ gigs (but I use index imaging)
