Nvidia Shield - Hardware Transcoding Not Working

Oh wow, I didn’t realize it was broken until reading this. Just tested and some movies I get audio only, and others just give an infinite spin. Not only did the latest Plex update goober my server (start/stop buttons gone), but it broke transcoding… Is there a way to downgrade while preserving metadata, bif, etc? This is a big deal as transcoding was my top reason for getting the Shield TV.

Yup I had complaints from friends using my server before that suddenly it just wasn’t working with stuff that they had started watching fine before even before the whole shield experience update fiasco due to them breaking the transcoding. I was hoping the update was going to accidentally fix that problem, I certainly wasn’t counting on it killing the server definitively.

HW does not work on Nvidia Shield

Problem is urgent

I can’t remember in my case if it still showed hw when transcoding still but it definitely started choking on files it was fine with prior to the point of not being usable while transcoding.
