Shield experience 9 upgrade, server dissapeared

I am using the internal storage of my nVidia Shield TV Pro (2019) and also have this issue. I have tried everything from setting permissions to stopping/starting the app(s), to even reinstalling the entire Shield. Now not only does Plex not work, I guess all my settings are gone as well!

It took some doing, but downgrading to 1.24.5.5173 over ADB got it working again for me.

Shield Pro 2019 with PMS installed on external SSD Adopted Storage.

This fixed PMS not being able to find files, thank you!

Yes I did move storage to usb drive. Strange part is this occurred to me so I did an uninstall figuring a default new install would use internal storage.

Here is a link to a new Plex Media Server with a potential fix. You will need to sideload it. https://artifacts.plex.tv/plex-media-server-experimental/1.25.3.5410-f11334058/android_server/PlexMediaServer-1.25.3.5410-f11334058-4089-f1133405-shield-arm64v8-samba-release.apk

Please let us know if this works.

Well, I got something else.
My PLEX server on external hard drive works well (I can play stuff from it and all folders are visible in the app) but when I try to access it through my local network all the PLEX folders are gone (drive is visible though)

I sideloaded the apk and still have no media server.

Rebooted after and still no join.

The server went away for me as well. I’m not sure which data you are referring to but I use two identical external hard drives and all of my media is stored on them.

All music/movies/we’re working fine minutes before been prompted to an upgrade of nvidia shield pro. Update finished device rebooted then when loading Plex nothing was showing in my movie and music all media on usb hard drive

@Mac1ndo - Are you able to access the external drive from a computer? If so, can you go to the log folder and manually grab the server logs for me.

@martintzonev & @gypsydancer - From within the Plex client app, there is an option to move the location where Plex saves it’s data. This has nothing to do with where your media is saved.

@anon18523487 / @BigWheel,

After the upgrade to Shield Experience 9.0, Plex Media Server is no longer able to access external storage.

I tried stopping PMS, clearing data, then set up a new PMS. That works fine.

But then when I try to change the PMS data storage location, it only displays the 2 internal options and does not display the USB drives that are connected. The USB drives that are connected to the Shield are accessible from a computer.

@bhduong01 Thanks. That matches what I was/am seeing as well.

Same here. But it makes sounds when I cursor into there. If we could see what would be there, can we cursor over and activate it?

Same here. I tryed to install New pms and I doesn’t work.
I can’t do anything and my setup is loose

@anon18523487 If you are referring to what’s in Settings > Plex Media Server > Storage (or whatever the last part is called) - yes, I had one of the external drives selected in there. Right now this whole section is completely empty.

Ok, that matches everyone else.
