Different here on 2019 Pro.
right, but I think it will uninstall the updates only and hold the very old PMS Shield Version.
And if you loose the complete PMS after uninstall, then you lost the working old PMS so your only way can be to use the Recovery Image to install back the old PMS in System Software.
No, it completely uninstalls PMS and I can reinstall it from the Google Play Store.
@BigWheel And? What’s the status of the ticket? Did the assigned Engineer fix it? Did you find out why it is not showing the settings? Did you figure out a way that I don’t lose anything? Please update. Thank you.
They are working on a fix right now and someone may be reaching out to some or all of you with test a build. but you would need to know how to sideload. If you are fine with sideloading let me know and I will let devs know to contact you via message or they will here.
Yes, I know how to sideload and I’m fine with it.
I sent you a message with the build, FilGov.
Thank you, bernardoghazi. Sorry for the delay, was busy and couldn’t download it on my smartphone (?), had to use my computer. I replied you now with the logs (issue persists).
Hello, I’m trying to find a fix for this issue. I have used the Plex Media Server on my Nvidia Android device for years, just noticed today that I have no Plex Media Server options below the heading in the settings menu. I’ve done the reset, uninstall, unplug, etc., not sure what I need to do at this point unless I just wait for a fix via the play store?
That’s another (more common/reoccurring/widespread) issue. This (less common/reoccurring/widespread) issue is different, it causes the heading itself to vanish too. Check here: Reddit - Dive into anything.
@reese2754 can you please go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/plex-home and give your self a pin. You can remove it afterwards if you like, then restrart the player app on shield
Hi there- I’m a lifetime plex pass member and my server has become useless because of this bug. (I’ve had to reinstall it because of a different issue, but I can’t move the server to my external HDD because the settings options are all missing in the Plex app.) Is there any solution for this yet? I’ve signed up for the beta but the beta version has the same problem. Happy to try sideloading or any other potential workarounds.
@macindc please look at my post just above the one you just made and tell me what happens when you do it
@BigWheel The “remove updates”? Yes, tried that. No impact. I decided to completely purge both the Server and Player apps, reboot, reinstall from scratch. Set up a new server even. Still no settings available.
@bernardoghazi I’m also willing to take a crack at whatever you have.
no, the one literally just above your previous post.
OK I follow you now. So, some luck here!
I already had a PIN, so I tried resetting the PIN to a different one, and restarting the app.
No change in behavior.
I then removed the PIN entirely, then restarted the app again.
This time the server settings showed up right away! I was able to change my storage location at that point.
I’m not going to re-add the PIN since that seems to be related to the problem, but I’m happy this is resolved for now at least! Thank you for your help.
Update: the (uncomon) issue in my original post (missing entire “Settings > Plex Media Server” row including “Plex Media Server” heading) was apparently a permissions issue with my profile (missing crown on the profile picture). @bernardoghazi fixed it (thank you!), but ~2 months later PMS broke again and (only) the options/settings underneath “Settings > Plex Media Server” disappeared (different (common) issue, “Plex Media Server” heading still present). Reinstalled PMS, issue persisted. Removed PIN, options/settings reappeared but PMS stopped after changing storage location. Restarted Shield, PMS resumed but options/settings disappeared again. Reconfigured PIN, options/settings reappeared. So I confirm resetting the PIN fixes the (different, common) issue with the disappearing/missing options/settings underneath “Settings > Plex Media Server”, but apparently only temporarily.
