Shield stopped playing any media - plays ok if I downgrade to version 7 apk

As of a few days ago, Plex on my Nvidia Shield will not play any of my media. I get a buffering wheel for a few seconds then a generic “an error occurred … try restarting the Plex Media Server and this app” (of course, I tried that and no joy).

It plays fine through the web interface on my laptop.

If I downgrade to version 7.0.4.5618 or even uninstall all the updates and go back to version 5.6.1.505, the media plays fine.

I am at a loss - any help would be great.

Can you update to a current release of Plex Media Server?

1.20.2.3402 was released in Oct 2020.

Current release is 1.24.3.5033.

Thanks! I assumed since the client updated automatically, the media server would as well so I didn’t even check if there was a new version. That did the trick.
