Show title not matching TVDB (showing some old file name?)

So I’ll just start by saying all my tv show files are named in the same format following TVDB standards and this is the only show I’m having problems with, and it’s only happening with 2 seasons.

Despite matching with TVDB, and the metadata working properly for everything other than the name (year, description, etc), the title is staying in this weird format that doesnt even match my own file name. I found the same “weird title” in the comments/title of the file itself, but stripped all of that metadata out before adding anything to plex.

When I unmatch the series the title reverts to just “Episode 1”, but when re-matching it comes back. I’ve tried deleting the title fields manually and then refreshing the metadata, but it just comes back. I’ve also tried emptying the trash before doing any of this, and even deleted my entire directory and re-added every tv show I have.

Plex will take info from the MP4 metadata by default.

Go in your server settings - Agents - Shows - “Your Agent” and drag to bottom “Local Media Assets”

After refreshing metadata, you shouldn’t have the embedded title displayed

thanks a lot, its weird because this metadata wasnt even in the file itself, but was definitely in limbo somewhere

though for the record, i had to uncheck local media entirely, having it last on the agents list had no effect and still kept overriding after a meta refresh
