Similar files: One plays, the other buffers and only plays 2sec before buffering again

I have a problem that affects some files and not others. I just switched to Synology, but this happened previously when I had an iMac-M1 as a server.

I record screen grabs and put them in Plex directories. Some work just fine and others seem to continually buffer and not play. I recorded one two nights ago and one last night. Both are .mp4. Both play fine with Apple’s QuickTime or the builtin Synology player, Both have the same user:group and same permissions. Both are 720(H264). The only difference I see is that one is 1.7G (and plays) and the other is almost 6G and buffers. Both are Direct play.

And the problem video plays fine on my iPhone…

Any Thoughts?

Sorry for the delay in replying, didn’t see a notice that there was activity on this thread. The same program creates the files that work and those that don’t… it’s a screen grab program. The difference is size: The one that works is 1-2G and the ones that buffer are 5G or so. My home network supports 450mbs over wifi from the internet so I assume that isn’t an issue. The same client can (or can’t) play the files.
