Since the latest server update and download, I can not remove anything from my computer(8 GB HD, WD) or shutdown my computer, doing so and plex will not reconnect to the hard drive. and will not allow me to add media files all over again. This is getting very tedious and aggrevating. I never had this issue before the update, I would leave everything alone, shutdown as much as I needed to and no change, log in and everything was still there. Is there a fix for this and how do I get the patch for it.
Is the computer running OK otherwise?
If not, look at running Microsoft System File Checker to check/repair Windows. Also consider using chkdsk to scan for & repair drive errors.
You’ll also need to pull Plex log files and attach to the thread.
- Set Plex for debug logs (verbose disabled). Plex Web -> Server Settings -> General -> Show Advanced.
- Recreate the problem.
- If Plex Media Server is still running, go to Settings -> Manage -> Troubleshooting. Download the log files and attach entire zip file to the thread.
- If Plex Media Server is not running, go to
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs. Zip the entire Logs directory and attach to thread.
My computer is running normal other than that. I have no idea how to get what you are asking for. I am running a hard drive local to my machine and using the app to open Plex. Before the update i had no issues for roughly 8 months, could shut down and start up all i wanted and it would connect just fine. Please send detailed steps to get the files you need.
See bullet points in my first post. It tells you where in Plex settings to go for each step. See also “Reporting Issues…” support document linked below.
