When making use of the “Skip Intro” functionality in about 90% of the cases the audio gets async and plays with an offset of about 2-3s. After stopping playback and using the “Continue Playback” button it is in sync again.
I face this issue on my Nvidia Shield (2019) Pro and on my Amazon FireTV Stick 4k.
Since I observe this since several months it also not looks like some very version specific issue.
Same here too, although I get this more on my Shield in the living room then I do in the bedroom so wonder if it’s something to do with a particular setting and having a AVR in one set up and not the other.
Thanks for the report, I’m investigating this issue. Can you let me know if you have refresh rate or resolution switching enabled on the devices that you see the issue on?
I can confirm this issue, I feel like this happens only on Android based devices, right? It happens on my Shield, Android Tablet and my Android Smartphone. I have not seen this issue on my Samsung Smart TV (2020 modell) and my friends and family have not reported a similar issue on their Samsung TVs (ranging from 2015 to 2020 models) or LG (WebOS) TVs.
This issue occurs about ~90% when fast forwarding / jumping as well, so I think this issue is not specific to “skip intro” as skip intro is just a specific jump.
I can “fix” the problem in both cases by going back 10 seconds.
This is still an issue that happens ~75% of the time.
Running the latest beta android-tv client for nvidia shield, and stable 1.25 PMS release.
What logs would be beneficial here since I dont believe that the client logs show that the audio is going out of sync after skipping the intro. @sixones
I am having the same issues with this as well when skipping intro’s on multiple videos on my SHIELD Pro. This only appears to occur on this device and does not appear to occur on other PLEX versions I run (Apple TV, LG and Samsung).
I am also happy to provide any relevant log files or the like should they be required however am not certain how to obtain them for you.
Lastly, I am running SHIELD (Android) Client 9.20 and Server 1.26.2.5797.
Hi, I too had the issue. Today I deactivated “Dolby Audio processing” in the shield settings and at least had no Audio async issues this evening. I know it is needed for netflix, but if others could confirm that it helped, it might help to find the root cause.
