Skip TV Intro not working

Okay. Ill just check back in a cliple of weeks if its not still working. Thanks for all help!

Its ridiculous there is no way to check and get status for this long running task. A simple message on the status/alerts page would be better than nothing. I’ve only seen a basic summary after scheduled tasks stop time is reach saying The butler generated xxx season intro markers.

It can’t be that hard to query how many seasons is in your library, then parse how many have been analysed with intro markers either created or skipped (not needed) and finally how many left to complete.

This thing could take days, weeks or months depending on so many factors (size of library, speed of CPU, resources, disk IO 
 I could go on).

Is there a list of such clients? I mean which are the supported clients? Is the kodi addon such a client?

“The team is working on it. Don’t know when it will be available, but the idea is to get it on all supported clients.”

I will rephrase the question:
Is there a list of supported plex clients by the plex team in general, not only for this feature.

the system status circle will TELL YOU when it is scanning for intro markers.

if it is not spinning and saying ‘detecting intro’s’ or something similar, then it is not currently happening or was already done.

It does not TELL YOU what is done and what is left to do so we can estimate when it might finish. Basic summary status is needed.

I seem to be in the same boat as quite a few others. You say that it will tell us when making progress, however if the others are like me then manually pressing the “analyze” button on the TV shows library is NOT triggering any sort of scan, or if it is it is not showing any intro markers in any shows.

My server has been running the latest version since this update came out, any multiple attempts to manually scan both the library and individual series/seasons doesn’t seem to produce any intro markers? I have tried to view various shows in the web app, iOS and Android (all latest versions) and none seem to have it yet, so I would think that the analyze function doesn’t seem to be working for some reason?

We do seem to be having difficulty getting that message across

I’ve never seen any indication from ANY plexweb, anywhere, anything is happening at any time.

So it is at Show level and no Library level?

No activity showing at all

I hear my storage directory drive doing some extra work

Mine shows activity when scanning library for new content or metadata, but shows no activity when I press to analyze, as if the analyze feature is not working. I have tried at episode level, season, show and whole library. What I do see however is at season level, I can see the image for each episode is checked, but nothing else seems to happen

Analyze does not trigger and indication for me, in fact it don’t work. Enabled in Server/ Library setting for scheduled and when media is added. So the difference may well be that it only happens with a set schedule task

I read you, but no activity, Zilch, Nothing.

I’m gonna give up repeating the phrase:
“It Doesn’t Work”

Those words don’t seem to mean anything any more.

Haha, yea, same.

This is a nice feature and one I appreciate the team adding. But not essential enough for me to worry about. Ill be happy if it just works some day.

I appreciate everyone trying to help here though. It seems like the current inplementation could use some refinement

Well when this works, I will be happy but it’s not the end of world. There is definitely something a miss here, works for some and not for others.

I’m using the latest and greatest, no Champagne here, just flat lemonade.
