Ive created a simple playlist to grab a few artists. They show up fine, except when an artist is on a various artist album. Then they will not update to the playlist. I have verified that the artist tag is showing the correct artist. Any ideas?
For instance, I used Artist Title Contains Dave Koz. Dave Koz albums show up, but instances where he is on a various artists album, those songs do not.
It’s frustrating isn’t it? As you may have noticed, there isn’t a field for “Track Artist” that you can use for creating a playlist, only “Album Artist”
The other frustration I have is that you can use the basic search function in Plex Web, and actually see all the tracks by an artist that are in those “Various Artists” albums, but there is no way you can add those tracks to a playlist.
Obviously, the Plex dev’s don’t have any compilation albums to see how wrong this is, or it would have been fixed a long time ago.
Yeah, I think you’re right. I’m trying to move over from iTunes and I guess my expectations are a little high. This has been a rough transition so far.
I used one of my votes on the Track Artist. Hopefully this is the right one.
