So I tried Tidal

… and it didn’t work. I created a Tidal account, following the process. On the Tidal account settings it said that this offer is not available. :frowning: Strange. Tidal shows up in Plex but it doesn’t connect.

You’re not alone. Just tried this too and it gave me “Offer is not available”, it’s a new account too so it should be eligible. My therory is that Plex released the announcment without Tidal being ready on their end, so the offer isn’t working.

I’ve emailed Plex about this, waiting to hear back

Yeah, that was my initial though as well… too bad. The whole Tidal thing seems to be strange, lots of dead 404 links here and there. I know it sounds kinda silly but it’s like stepping into a restaurants dirty restrooms and re-considering to order any food.

The Tidal feature is being rolled out over the coming hours to users.
(Which means it is not available immediately to everyone.)
This issue is also being looked into right now.

I recommend everyone interested to wait until tomorrow and then try to restart the Plex server and all the Plex clients before trying again.
Hopefully, things will have settled down until then.

Just hope I don’t get billed even though my Tidal account isn’t set up. Cause Plex is telling me I have a subscription active, when I don’t because of this issue. Is the payment handled on Tidal or Plex’s end?

same problem, you are not eligible for that offer

well, I eventually got an email notification tidal welcome advising that my previous subscription attempt was now active.

I checked plex web and tidal appears to be working now.

anyone else had problems give it some time and/or check your email and it might start working once you get the welcome email

Not for me. Got the welcome mail twice now. I think my account is fubared. Great process, awesome QA. Someone somewhere reeeally messed up the whole thing…

Edit: No. Three times now.

I’ve got about 5 welcome emails now, Tidal app shows no subscription. This really needs to get fixed

i can log in to my tidal account and it shows tidal intro for the subscription.

on my plexweb > settings > account > other services, I have the tidal account linked.

if your tidal account is not linked (I linked it manually after the getting the signup error), you may want to ensure that it gets linked.

HA! THAT actually worked. Thanks!

No title starts playing though… we’ll see how it pans out.

Did you get the subscription? Mine still says “You are not eligible for this offer”. Can link my Tidal account though

Its slowly rolling out. Just because its announced doesnt mean everyone gets the feature immediately.

“Start 30-day trail” is not an announcement. This is aggressively promoting a new feature.

If you put that on your front page you should be ready for the masses pouring in, unless you like ending up in communication hell.

By the way… Trying to play any media on the webclient from Tidal: “Errorcode: h4 (Codec)” :no_mouth:

Ended up using this link to get a trial and just linking the account to my Plex http://tidal.com/OTRIITOUR

Would be nice to have my pass and Tidal subscription in one place. Hoping Tidal/Plex can sort this bug out

Hope they fix the bugs soon. Already out a 50% completed subscription cycle + one that I just redid yesterday due to it wiping all payment methods and current subscriptions. ~$30. Think i’m gonna bite my tongue hard on this one and write it off as a “too good to be true”.

Excuse me, what are you talking about?
The feature was released yesterday. How can you be already through 50% of a subscription period (which is monthly for Tidal)?

And what or who “wiped” payment methods?

That occured when trying to pair a current tidal hifi subscription with the plex pass + tidal hifi. FAQs said to proceed with purchase normally and it’ll switch over but instead I found that my current tidal hifi subscription was canceled and somehow paypal got removed from my account. Then account was switched to tidal intro and I never got the plex pass. Re registered the subscription to tidal so can listen to music and got charged again. Next charge date would have been December 16th had it never been screwed up. Tidal said that this is the issue thread for for the new subscriptions? At least this is what tidal support linked me in an email.

Please write to https://www.plex.tv/contact/?option=plex-pass-billing and explain please in detail what you did and in which order.
